Interview with Amanda!

Hi everyone! Here is my interview with a fellow blogger, Amanda at Amanda's Writings. Why am I interviewing someone other than an author (though she might be the next great author in short time!)? Well, I wanted to get to know a little about her, you know, get to know some of my fellow book bloggers!....So here is how it went down :)

Me: When did you start reading?

Amanda: I actually started reading in Kindergarten. Junie B. Jones and stuff like that. The first real book I read, though, was in first grade. Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone by J.K. Rowling.

Me: What made you decide to come to this wonderful world of blogging?

Amanda: When I started blogging, my blog was actually a writing blog, hence the name "Amanda's Writings.' I posted my stories and writing advice. I still do sometimes. But anyway, I wanted people (other than family) to read my stories and tell me how to fix them. I was surfing the blog world when I came across some book blogs and I decided I wanted to do that too.

Me: How long have you been blogging?

Amanda: I've been blogging since July this year.

Me: If you were only allowed one book to keep, which one would it be?

Amanda: If I could only keep one book it would be Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. In my opinion it is one of the best books ever written.

Me: Who's your favourite author?

Amanda: My favorite author? Obviously J.K. Rowling.

Me: What are you reading right....now?

Amanda: Right now I am reading City of Glass by Cassandra Clare. I have maybe four chapters left. When I finish, I'm going to read Clockwork Angel by the same author ;)

Me: In the future do you want a career involving books, if not what do you want to be?

Amanda: Yes of course I want to be something to do with books. I think I could be an author (I'm definitely trying to be one), or maybe a literary agent.

Book report! Interviews in the future!

I have not made too much progress on "13 Little Blue Envelopes" due to school work. But don't dispair I will finish! I also wanted to mention that I will be posting an interview soon. I decided to interview a good blogger friend, maybe you know her? Amanda at Amanda's Writings! I thought it would be interesting to get to know a little bit about a fellow blogger! I am hoping to do more interviews in the future...So stay tuned. This is an awfully short post but don't worry I'll have more up. As you can also see I have changed the look of my blog...I'm experimenting. And I thought this look was nice. What do you guys think? I would love to know! Review for The Year of Secret Assignments by Jaclyn Moriarty

"The Year Of Secret Assignments"

Three female students from Ashbury High write to three male students from rival Brookfield High as part of a pen pal program, leading to romance, humiliation, revenge plots, and war between the schools. -Summary from Goodreads

  The summary doesn't due justice for this book in my opinion. This book was witty, funny, charming and expertly written. The genre of this book along with the plot line appeals to me and that's why I picked it. The characters were very well constructed and their personalities very distict. I found it so interactive, due to it being written through diarys, journals, emails, letter and post notes. I never read a book written like this but it sure gave me a excellent first impression. Jaclyn made the whole story flow, I never had to guess what was going on. Though it is a few years old, I believe this is a great book. It was a touching, hilarious, light hearted read that I would recommend to everyone! I LOVED this book so much I'm going to buy it soon! I give this book FIVE STARS!!

Dear Emily,
Check it out. I JUST SAVED THE LIVES OF THE WHOLE SCHOOL.

I'm on the oval right now, and I can hardly see this paper through the tears of life-giving joy.

See those girls sitting cross-legged and singing the theme song from Friends? They wouldn't be doing that right now if it wasn't for me. See that guy over there taking the shoelace out of one of his sneakers? Same thing. That girl picking her nose? SHE WOULD BE DEAD AND HER NOSE WOULD BE FULLY UNPICKED IF IT WAS NOT FOR ME.

That guy with the sneakers is now using the lace to strangle someone, which is beautiful thing to see, Emily, and I made it possible, and that's why you are blurry through my tears.

Okay, check it out, I'll tell you what happened.

I was in the admin block, outside the principal's office. I won't go into the reason why I was there, because that would destroy the flow of the story.

The fact is, I was there, and on my own because the secretary just went out for a moment, and the telephone rang...............

 

On My Bookshelf! Update!

Hey, sorry I didn't post yesterday. We have high speed internet but it is not at all reliable so yah lets just say I could not get a connection to the web world. Anyways, on I think it was Saturday, I finished "Year of Secret Assignments". Like I mentioned before IT WAS AMAZING. Really great read. I will post a review maybe tomorrow or the next day. I'm too tired right now. And when I went in the other day my book came in. I know your probably thinking, what book? But think way way way back like three or so weeks ago when I mentioned "13 Little Blue Envelopes by Maureen Johnson" yah I mean that one. I have finished about half of it, really good story so far. Blog Hopper and Constuction

My answer:
     No holiday traditions on my end but I am thankful for my family and friends and all the little things that people can take for granted. Like a bed to sleep in, proper food, and my lovely books! Great question!

  So, I don't know if you have noticed (well actually its not hard to overlook) but my blog is changing slowly. Hafsah at Icey Books has been helping me out. So what do you think abou the new look? Oh and now my button is up for grabs! There's a code there, grab it and spread around my blog! Thanks! So I am gliding through The Year of Secret Assignments and loving it even more! Wow, it may be a few years old but its very well written! Looking at the time, where I am, its very late so I must be getting to bed. Tell me what you think about the new look... On My Bookshelf !

I went to the library today and returned the books, all three. I am not going to do a review of His Sweet Favour, all I'm going to say is it is raw and shows no mercy. It is not the happiest book but is very well written.
  So today I got one book (I was really short on time). I have started it and its AMAZING! Like, I think I NEED to buy it! Serious. I am not done but loving every minute of it. Here it is:

Books = Movies :D

So I think everyone is familiar with Repunzel right? Well, has anyone seen the trailor for Tangled? It looks hilarious! Can't wait to see it....I usually like books that turn into movies AS LONG AS THEY DON"T WRECK THE STORY! I hate when that happens but since Tangled is supposed to be twisted (get it?) compared to the original story it'll be interesting to see what they come up with! Does anyone know of any other books that either have been turned into movies or will be? Besides the obvious Harry Potter, Narnia or Travelling pants? I would love to know what you have seen, do you think books are better off left alone? Or do you like when they cast it to the theaters? Thanks for reading! Cheers!

What-not and Book Blogger Hop Q!

  So, I have finished two out of the three books I picked up at the library. I was hoping they would last me a couple of weeks but unfortunetly not. (I think I read to fast)! I'm one quarter done His Sweet Favour, not loving it yet but we'll see. I don't think I will do a review on it but maybe....depending on how my scheduele is. (School work overload coming).
